About Trey Hickey

Trey is a partner in GDS's Singapore office and the leader of GDS's international strategy. He leads GDS’s global initiative, partnering with fast-growing companies that are poised to be leaders of the future.

Trey has more than 20 years of cruise industry experience spanning Japan, Greater China, SE Asia, Latin America and Europe. His focus is on building and managing a global entrepreneurial partner network while focusing on ocean going cruise line business development to accelerate growth and overcome the challenges that come with scale.

Trey has extensive experience developing growth strategies that help companies rapidly scale while building sustained competitive advantage. He advises clients across a range of issues, including business establishment, commercial strategy, facilitating technology innovation, financing, and providing creative solutions in both B2B and B2C environments.

Under Trey’s leadership, he grew international cruise revenues beyond $4B for several cruise industry majors, was the first industry expat based in Asia and spent 25 years of living abroad in a professional cruise capacity in places including China, Japan, Mexico, Spain and Switzerland.

Trey earned degrees from both America, Japanese and UK Universities and is fluent in both English and Japanese.
